Kalmbach Media is looking for an event planning professional to join our growing events team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and energetic team member with a clear commitment for producing top-quality events and providing superior event customer service.

The Specialist will provide event logistics planning, marketing and customer service support for Events Group for all assigned brand-specific, promotional and special events to drive participation that meets schedule and budget goals. Act as key contact for assigned events from initial planning through event reconciliation. Assist in developing marketing ideas and strategy, costs-savings processes and improvements to align with Events Marketing strategic goals.



  • Coordinate all required event services as assigned.
  • Provide onsite registration services at events for participants, exhibitors and speakers/instructors.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, applications, purchase orders, check requisitions and execute as required for assigned events.
  • Create marketing strategies and support all related efforts to drive event participation and sales while adhering to established brand identities and working to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Assist in the development of new programming and continuously improve current programming.
  • Carefully track expenses for events, maintain records, estimate future commitments and report regularly to stay within budget for each assigned event.
  • Travel and work at events during regular work hours and on evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Communicate with team and schedule appropriate meetings to learn brand details, share information and solve potential issues.



  • 1-3 year direct to consumer event planning experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience meeting customer expectations and delivery high-quality work
  • Bachelor's degree preferred



  • Event Specialist must be an experienced and energetic team member with a clear commitment for producing top-quality events and providing superior event customer service.
  • Ability to develop project needs, discern work priorities, implement solutions that align with Event group's strategic goals and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to travel and work at events during regular work hours, in evenings and up to 6-8 weekends per year is necessary and expected
  • Self-motivation and a high level of organizational skills are necessary as well as the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Must be physically able to lift and move up to 25 pounds, use handcarts and other basic show equipment
  • Approach all job duties with a sincere customer-focused and collaborative communication style
