Kalmbach Media Co; a leader in entertaining, informing and inspiring our customers through high quality media and related services; is seeking a detailoriented individual with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in General Accounting, Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable, to join our Accounting / Credit Team. This individual will ensure efficient, timely, and accurate recording of all returns, reconcile daily credit card receipts, and assist in the daily Accounts Payable processes.

Our candidate will have a strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.  Individual should display a positive customer focused attitude.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in full-cycle AP processing, including matching invoices with purchase orders, obtaining appropriate approvals, entering approved invoices for payment, and matching invoices with checks and submit to approved check signers
  • Reconcile daily credit card receipts
  • Process all returns and associated credits
  • Maintain sales tax resale certificates
  • Process daily deposit of checks received, including electronic scanning of checks and maintaining deposit log
  • Assist with company compliance related to sales and use tax, including filing of necessary sales and use tax returns for all states in which the company has nexus
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations and analysis as assigned
  • Assist the Credit and Accounting Departments with special projects, as required

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize
  • 2+years of experience in General Accounting, Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable and related duties
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Solid computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required)
  • Experience with sales and use tax a plus
